Approach

Claire is passionate about sharing the knowledge that she has gained over the years and showing the importance of training not just the body but also the mind of the horse for peak performance.

“When training horses and riders I am focussed on how we can use the ground work to help achieve a better ridden performance. How the horse is feeling in its mind and body on the ground is directly linked to the feeling the rider has under saddle. To achieve peak performance whether at a local show or on the international stage, the mental and physical building blocks need to be equally in place.

Equine athletes, just like human ones, need both physical as well as mental training to be successful in competition.

Each horse and rider is an individual and will have their own needs, so as a coach it is important to me that I take the time to listen, understand and support my clients and their horses in the best way I can.”

Having developed a sought-after practice in the UK, Claire moved to the USA in 2022 and is currently training clients in the UK, USA and online.

“I started working with Claire nearly two years ago with a mare I had who can be very sharp, and I was struggling with her behaviour, particularly at competitions. Claire helped me initially on the ground and we’ve progressed to the ridden work too. I now have a much happier, calmer horse, who has now coped at some big shows. Since then, Claire helps us with all of our horses, both on the ground and in the ridden work. I also backed my youngster recently, who is calm, supple and very balanced. I know that I couldn’t have achieved that without using Claire’s methods. Claire is an understanding coach, who is positive, encouraging and inspirational. We are extremely grateful to have her help and support!”

“Claire’s training has completely transformed my reactive mare. With her endless patience and support she is teaching me how to help my horse relax her mind and body on the ground and how to follow this through in to the ridden work with amazing results.”
