About me

I have been riding since the age of six.  I was an active member of The Flamstead Pony Club where I participated in all kinds of equestrian activities ranging from one day events to polo. At this time I found all the 'going round in circles'  - my definition of dressage - very boring!

When I was 13 years old, I was encouraged to enter the British Dressage National Talent Spotting competition which I won on my lovely bay pony, Leonties Double (Leo). Following this success, we went on to win two National titles at the Under 25s Championships in 2007, represented England at two Home Internationals where we were Individual and Team Champions, and were runners up in the Elementary Restricted class at the British Dressage National Championships at Stoneleigh in 2008.

Following on from these successes,  I campaigned my  chestnut pony, Gigolo, and had many wins and placings at home and abroad. We were the 2009 BDSC FEI Pony Champions at Sheepgate u25s Championships, represented GB in numerous internationals and were part of the 2009 and 2010 European Pony Championship teams in Belgium and the UK. In both championships the team narrowly missed out on a medal and as individuals Gigolo and I qualified for the Kur finals.  In 2010 we were individually placed 5th, winning the Worshipful Company of Master Saddlers Award for the highest placed British rider and received the Lucan Trophy from British Dressage for our European Championship performance.

In 2011, I made the transition to horses and acquired the British 6 year old Champion, Annette Ballerina (Bella) and Daniolo (Danny) a Don Primero chestnut gelding.

In 2012, I moved my horses to the Academy Bartels in the Netherlands to learn from and train with Dutch Olympians Tineke Bartels and Imke Schellekens-Bartels. That summer, Danny and I were part of the 2012 GB Junior European team in Berne, Switzerland, where we achieved personal bests in the team and individual tests. In 2013, I moved up to Young Rider/ PSG level and we were successful in national competitions in Holland. This same year I left university and moved to the Netherlands so that I could focus on training my horses.

During 2014, I competed CJ, a then 7 year old stallion by Johnson. We had a great year with successful outings at ZZL and YR level.

During my time in the Netherlands, I have been working on building Bella's promise as a young horse.  In 2015 we represented GB internationally at Young Rider level achieving two 'top 4' placings on our debut, enjoying success at a number of international shows and were members of the Great Britain team at the Young Rider European Dressage Championships in Vidauban, France.

Since January 2106 I have been based with Tristan Tucker (TRT Method) at his base in the Netherlands where I am continuing my journey to Grand Prix.  In Spring 2016, we won on our international Small Tour debut in Oliva Nova, Spain and in 2017 Bella and I represented GB at U25 GP twice in Denmark and also at Hickstead CDI. In the U25 category this season, 2018, we have had top podium finishes in Lier, placings in Luxembourg and wins at Sint-Truiden CDI and Hickstead CDI and we won a bronze team medal at the U25 European Dressage Championships.

I have three young horses, Golda ZB (Apache x Houston) who has produced a stunning Floriscount colt in 2018 and is now in foal to Don Noblesse,  Joe Cocker B (Johnson x Don Cardinale) who was born in 2012 and Jacobus D (De Niro x Jazz) who is now 4 years old.

Alongside my own competitive journey, I am continuing my education as a dressage coach. I am a UKCC level 3 British Dressage Accredited Coach and I am passionate about good coaching methods and techniques and about enabling each one of my clients to achieve their own goals.

In sport, and in life,  you always have to look ahead, work hard and aim high. In both my riding and coaching I am determined to continue to bring home medals for my country.
